The story behind Vang Vieng Elephant Experience
Our story
Vang Vieng Elephant Experience is a small family-run project in the green valley of Vang Vieng, Laos. We started with one simple idea: let visitors meet elephants in a calm, respectful way, without forcing shows or rides. Over time, we added a second service — a completely free Laos Travel Center — so every traveller could get honest, practical information about Laos in their own language.
What we do today
We offer two services. First, respectful elephant visits: small groups, hotel pickup and return, cash payment on site, and time spent at the animals' rhythm. Second, the Laos Travel Center: 100% free tourist information, AI assistant, itineraries, transport guides, city and activity advice, and answers in 13 languages.
Local and independent
We are not a tour agency or a reseller. Our team lives in Vang Vieng and works directly with the elephants and their mahouts. Booking is on WhatsApp only, payment is in cash on arrival, and the travel information centre is always free — no booking required.
